Rayburn Boiler Cooker Replacement with Klover Smart80 Pellet Boiler Cooker BD24 0JE

The old system was base on a coal fired back boiler which was not operating very efficiently. Sometimes the water was boiling in the system We replaced the old boiler with a Smart 80 pellet boiler stove from Firepower. The stove has MCS certificate, so we could use the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

Layout

The heat source is the Smart 80 boiler, the heating system was open vented but we transformed it to closed system.
The heating system had been installed with some microbore pipes means the radiators had been connected with very small diameter pipes.
To eliminate possible control problems we installed a neutraliser in the heating circuit and two separate secondary pumps: one for the radiators and another one for the cylinder coil. The primary pump was the pump of the boiler itself.
