I am currently in the process of organising annual maintenance for biomass boilers systems across the UK.
In order to keep costs to a minimun and therefore offer the best possible price I plan to schedule a round tour.
Please note that if you receive RHI payment, now it is a requirement to prove that annual maintenance has been carried out under the HETAS Approved Biomass Maintenance Scheme (HABMS). We are also registered under this scheme. Please see details here.
The core of the maintenance work is the Hetas recomended service record template which you can wiev or download here.
We follow the maintenance manual if it is available. If it is not, then we do the ordinary maintenanse tasks and checks.
After the maintenance along with the invoice you will receive the service report.
If you receive RHI payment, then we register the job to HETAS and you will receive a certificate from them as well.
The maintenance fee in 2026 is £235. This includes the call-out fee and up to 2 hours of work. The extra works will be charged with a hourly rate £28. The actual time varies, but you may expect around 2 extra hours.
This year I will have some help, so the extra workours might be less than normally.
Anyway I will not charge more extra hours than last year, even if it takes longer this year.
The neccessary materials and any extra time will be charged additionally.
The maintenance doesn’t include chimney sweeping.
The maintenance under the HETAS Approved Biomass Maintenance Scheme sets up obligation to carry out the work under a written contract. We use the Hetas recomended template tailored to our company. You can view or download our contract here. Please note this contract does not include urgent repairs or maintenance. Such work may be done under separate agreement.
This year I am organizing the first round a little earlier than usual so that I can bring my son and some of his classmates with me. I want to introduce them to this profession in a way that they learn by doing. If this is a problem for you, please do not register now, but for the second round when they will not be coming.
Please specify the days which would be suitable for you. I will organise the maintenance tour with this in mind. Please respond by 1st of Aug 2026. After receiving your requests, I will create a schedule and let you know. Unfortunately, I can’t make a specific schedule in advance, so I will probably only contact you after the tour starts, when I can give you an exact time and date probably only one day in advance.
